Retail Therapy: A Night When Having Fun Will Benefit Others
Posted by: | Comments
Stella’s Retail Therapy Night — our semi-annual, after-hours party — is set for Thursday, October 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. And, as if the event won’t be fabulous enough, Stella is proud to announce that acclaimed designer Sophia Forero will be on hand that night with a trunk show of her beautiful jewelry.
Sophia works with semi-precious gems and materials of the highest quality. A favorite of Stella customers, Sophia’s jewelry has been worn by Sarah Jessica Parker, Bonnie Hunt, Holly Hunter, Juliette Lewis, Mariel Hemingway, Cheryl Hines and many other celebrities. Her jewelry has appeared in feature films and on the anchorwomen of CNN.
Sophia’s eye for color, texture and design stems from her experience of international culture. Sophia worked for the Peace Corps and has traveled the world gathering inspiration and materials from which she crafts her fine jewels.
Three years ago, Sophia, her brother and a New York Times editor teamed up on a mission to create a line of jewels that would directly benefit Friends of the Children of Haiti (FOTCOH). The result was a high-end series of necklaces featuring oil drum pendants from Haiti. 100% of the proceeds benefits FOTCOH. Sophia will be raffling off one of these pieces, valued at $500, at the Stella Trunk Show during our Retail Therapy event. Raffle tickets will sell for $5 each.
Rachel Hershinow, owner of Stella, will donate a portion of the evening’s proceeds to FOTCOH. And while the event will benefit others, Retail Therapy is also a night for you, filled with refreshments, libations, special discounts and friendly company. It’s a definite don’t-miss.
This special night of fun and fundraising is a celebration to women coming together, teaming up for a good cause and feeling fabulous.

Posted by: | Comments
In case you missed it, here’s what happened here last weekend:
Central Street was abuzz with energy, the weather was perfect for outdoor shopping (most of the time), and fantastic deals were grabbed left and right during Stella’s annual sidewalk sale.
It was crazy busy at our small store, and we want to thank all our customers for their continued support.
Did you miss our sidewalk sale? Don’t be bummed: There is still plenty of fabulous stuff on sale right now in the store including clothes, jewelry, accessories and home decor.
And, here’s another upside to a successful sidewalk sale: Now we have room for all the new and wonderful merchandise that will be coming into the store in the weeks to come!
Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!

Forget the Tie: Give Dad a Classy Gift He’ll Appreciate
Posted by: | CommentsSunday, June 20 was Father’s Day.
Dads are those great guys who get the bugs out of the house, change the hard-to-reach light bulbs and grease the squeaky doors.
So? Did you get something fantastic for Dad for Father’s Day?
It’s not too late to gift something great. Though Stella is beloved by women, it is also full of goodies for men — and Dads.
Come by today and let us help you find something as wonderful as he is.
Stella wishes all you great Dads out there a very Happy Father’s Day!
What to Get for the Person Who Enriched Your Child’s Life?
Posted by: | CommentsHasn’t this year gone by quickly? It’s almost June, which means the end of the school year, which means it’s time to start thinking about teacher’s gifts.
Sure, you can get the usual Starbucks gift certificate, but why not think outside the box and give the person who took special care of your child all year a truly special gift?

These Humanity candles say "Make a Difference." Who in the world makes a bigger difference than a teacher?
As you know, Stella is THE place for gifts; and not only do we have items that would be appreciated by any teacher but by any woman as well. (We have great gifts for men too!)
And, if you are set on that gift certificate, trust me: A gift certificate from Stella is way cooler than one for coffee.
Stella-Sponsored Show at Wilmette Theatre a Sight to See
Posted by: | CommentsStella Boutique last week sponsored Ladies Night Out: The Secret Lives of Moms at the Wilmette Theatre. It was hilarious, entertaining, inspiring and fabulous: It was truly a spectacular show!
Hosted by Chicago comedienne Patti Vasquez, it starred and was created by Carole Dibo, Mary Beth Dolan, Carol Moss, Becca Noyes, Stephanie Rogers and Stella’s own, Nili Yelin, who did a hilarious stand-up routine.
There was amazing singing, piano playing and comedy bits. Yelin’s daughter, Emily, and Moss’ daughter Emma, took the stage and sang an amazing rendition of “Mama, I’m a Big Girl Now” from “Hairspray.” Stella raffled off some wonderful prizes to the crowd and there was a special appearance by Aunt Lola, whom you might have met at a past Stella Retail Therapy event.
Also present in the audience, and for a bit on stage, was actor Tim Kazurinsky (remember him from Saturday Night Live?) and screenwriter Dana Olsen (The ‘Burbs, among others), who are planning their own Secret Lives of Dads night at the Wilmette Theatre.
Stella wants to say thank you for all who came out to support us and enjoy the show. Keep an eye out for more great Stella-sponsored events.
